The mixed-use North Light Building in downtown Columbia, Missouri includes ground-floor commercial storefronts and 12 spaces usable as apartments or offices. The steel-framed brick building is LEED Certified and received an AIA Mid-Missouri Design Award. The six live/work spaces on the west side are served by a coded elevator on Walnut Street that opens directly into tenants’ living rooms. To prevent unneeded construction and reserve square footage for tenants, the spaces on the east utilize the city’s parking garage stairs and elevator. Each level has adjacent parking spaces.
